Day 1 on the road

Today got off to a rough start, but we actually made really good time. We are in TN just outside of Memphis right now for the night.
We left Danville, WV around 11:45am today and decided to head towards Arkansas. We would have left earlier had my battery not been dead!
We stopped every 100+ miles for fuel and a few minute break. I’d say we made it over 700 miles today!
We have only had a few technical difficulties today…
1/ My arms are burnt and as red as a purple lobster….
2/ Rick’s cell phone locked up most of the way, and mine died around Nashville
3/ Rick’s highway pegs were messed up for most of the trip making it uncomfortable for him, but he rigged something up at the last stop like McGuyver and we were good to go.
I did notice one thing.. WV and KY look like a slaughter house with road kill.. as soon as you get into TN there is none to be found!!!! I thought that was insane.. I haven’t seen a dead coon since midway thru KY!
I have to say, my air hawk seat is absolutely awesome!!!! I didn’t get sore once!
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get some pictures up whenever we start stopping to check things out….

Couple of tripping tips…
1) sunscreen or a longsleeve lightwieght shirt
2) cellphone? you’re riding your bike crosscountry, turn the phone off and store it. Call home when you stop for the evening.
3) don’t push it. You wanna stop and look around? Stop!
4) Technical problems? It’s gonna happen, deal with them as they come up. Be carefull of temp fixes cause of safety.
5) Have fun!!

What are you talking about…YOUR BABIES? LOL…We are in love with Sylvia and the pigs, not sure if we’re gonna give them back!
The pigs are great, they are eating really good and Squeak has come to love them as well, he sits right by their cage and watches over them. Sylvia and Brian have bonded, as soon as she hears him she runs to the side of her cage pawing and scratching until he gets her out. She isn’t eating her dry food all that much, she mostly wants her treats lol…..I haven’t talked to Ashley in a few days so I’ll call later and check in with her. Don’t worry about anything here, we got it covered. Keep givin us updates and we will do the same.

I’ll be checking on your babis tonight. Spent most of the day in the docs office getting ready for my surgery on the 11th then it was to Johnnas ballet class which didn’t let out until 7:00 or 7:30. I talked to Autumn last night and the day of my surgery and the following saturday she is going to take care of the while I’m recovering and I’ll pick it back up on monday unless something changes…. I’ll post a comment and let ya know how they are but I’m sure I’ll be getting a phone call anyway! lol
